As Shared Lives is a small group, we do not have any administration costs, fees or wages. All the profits that we make from the events we put on go directly to the Educare Centre. So far over  £10,000 has been raised. Just some of this money has been invested in:
  • A Vacuum Cleaner,
  • New Mattresses so that the children can have a sleep in the afternoon,
  • Food Processor
  • Educational Books for the nursery school,
  • A projector to make lessons more interesting,
  • We have sponsored 10 children in 2009 so that they can continue going to the Educare Centre,
  • We have sponsored 11 children in 2010,
  • We are in the process of sponsoring 14 children in 2011
  • £500 has been put into a saving account over there for emergencies.
There are still a lot of things that the Educare Centre needs. So any help that you can give Shared Lives by making a donation, supporting our events, or just praying for the children and their families in Cape Town will be much appreciated.
