£7.29 is all it costs to send 1 child to the Educare Centre a week.
Not a lot of money for us, but to the families in Delft it is a small fortune and one that some families just do not have.
What would you spend £7.29 on?
To sponsor 1 child for a year it will cost £306.18
The children are at school for 42 weeks a year broken down as follows:
19th January, 1st April - 11 weeks
11th April, 24th June - 11 weeks
18th July, 30th September - 11 weeks
10th October, 9th December - 9 weeks
Shared Lives has sent out £1,600 already this year with a further £1,000 going out shortly.
To sponsor all 14 children for the year it will cost £4,286.52 so we still need to raise another £1,686.52

Their parents have no work so they cannot pay the full amount of school fees. The Educare asks the parents for a fee of R300 monthly for 11 months. This amount includes all the expenses with the education and feeding of the child. If parents cannot afford this the fees are reduced to half or a third.
