Dear Friends,
At last I am writing to you after a long delay!
First of all a big thank you for those beautiful gifts you sent for each child here. It was very kind of you to fill the gift boxes with so many goodies. Unfortunately there was a lot of difficulty in the Import Export Department in releasing the gift boxes.
A few months ago a couple of friends offer an opportunity to the children to visit the Zoo. You can imagine the wonderful experience and the excitement! 137 children with their teachers and some parents enjoyed the day. The little ones are still talking about it!
At the beginning of the year we were asked by the Department of Social Development to re- register our Educare Centre, the reason being that there are new regulations which we had to comply with.
Three of the teachers are attending formation courses. It will benefit the children in the long run. Some of our Staff members left and others replaced them. Every year we cannot accommodate all the parents that ask to enrol their children but, at least we are seeing signs of our Project be a reality! The municipality have laid the pipes for the water. We are waiting for the D-day-the FIRST JUNE for the builders to start to build. It will be built in 3 phrases. The first one and the most needed at the moment is the Educare Centre.
We thank each one of you for your continual help, interest and support. God put all of you in our way to make it possible and we are very grateful for everything you do for the benefit of the children of this disadvantaged area of Delft.
With the Lord and Mary's help we are expecting great things to happen in the future.
